Trying to figure out

the School system here. Just don't understand what the school official who decides on if there should be a snow day or not. Yesterday in the early morning snow moved in and we got a few inches, side roads were slick, I slid through a stop sign (which is the first time since I was a kid just learning to drive) thank goodness no one was coming. There was no cancellations here in Franklin county. Which is OK but right before Christmas break they canceled school and the roads were clear no slick spots that I could find, that week was my busiest week had a lot of Dr. appointments, my kids and myself, so I was out on side roads and the main roads a lot that week. Well what I am trying to get at is that what is going through their heads when deciding if there should be school and when there shouldn't when it snows. Some one said it is because it isn't a Monday or a Friday which I'm starting to agree with that person because it was a Monday and a Thursday and Friday right before Christmas break when they called off school for bad road conditions and the roads were clean compared to what they were yesterday and today.

Paper Angels

Last month I tried this class out and it was fun, they had a free class on paper angels for December and I took a picture of just 1 angel I did with my phone but I was planning on taking more pictures with my camera, but being a procrastinator as I am most of the times I was way behind on getting my Christmas Gifts all done that I didn't have time to get the pictures of them all in a group for my keep sake I am not for sure how many I made now, lol.

Well this month CDAC is have a "Heart Pocket Free Class" I can't wait to try this one as well.

It Works

I am so glad it works. I am at my Dad's today for a while or heater went out so our landlord is working on it, I am thinking that it was the samething that was wrong with it last year about this time.

Getting Back in the Swing

of getting up early in mornings. I have my alarm clock set fast so I can hit the snooze button but I don't very often so I am up at 4:35 most mornings when there is school, I have to have my coffee before waking my kids up for school and have some alone time in the mornings, wonder if I am the only one that does this , more then likely not but it sure feels like it at times lol. I get the kids up at 6:25 to get ready for school. Right now I feel like going back to bed but can't, darn. Maybe I can take a nap later today who knows. Well I hope that everyone has a wonderful day today.

It's Back To School

for my kids. They had a nice long vacation I don't know if they are ready to go though we will have to wait and see this morning when it is time to wake them up. I hope they are because I really don't want the yelling they like to do first thing in the morning if they don't want to go, lol. Oh well yelling or not it is time to get back on track.

Learn to Love

That is what we are learning in Sunday school today, this is what I have been trying to teach my kids. They are not allowed to use that "H" word in my house, they can use I dislike something or I don't like that. I am a firm believer that the only way to stop "hate" is at the home front, so I try my best to do this. Its not easy but I try. I tell them that it is best to stay away from someone that you cannot get along with then hang around them even if you have friends that like that person and to never talk bad about that person even if that person talks bad about you. My Daughter has some friends that are also friends with this other girl, this other girl does not like Dina (my Daughter) one bit, has threaten to punch Dina in the face has said nasty things about Dina and they have had a few arguments that the girl got moved out of Dina's class because the girl always starts the arguments with Dina. But as far as I know and from what I am told by her teachers Dina does not make her friends choose who they should hang out with just because them two can not get along. And I am so proud of Dina for this and also for sticking up for herself this year, she has been bullied all through school and for once Dina isn't backing down from the bullies. This is the first year that I have had to go to school because Dina won't or hasn't backed down. Dina is in the 8th grade and I have been going to her school at least 6 to 12 times a school year to get the bulling to stop, but it seems that the school does not care, last year my daughter had her life threaten, a boy threatened to slit her throat and they did not do anything about it and I think that was Dina's last straw with the bullies. She doesn't fight them but she doesn't back down now more either so far this year it has just been that one girl that has been bulling her. The most funny thing about it is they use to be friends, don't know what went wrong there, have my ideas but still that is only ideas. Well anyways Dina still likes her but stays away from her but stays away because she doesn't want to fight.

My Goals for 2011

1. Is be more active in my blog writing
2. Make and then take pictures of cards, scrapbook layouts, and other paper crafts I make throughout 2011, I made cards in 2010 but never took pictures so I didn't post them
3. Organize my scrapping area better, its very hard to do have a small space to craft in, lol
4. Try to have Sisters to come over once a month to have a scrapbooking day. We have set up a date for Jan. but we will see if they call it off lol

I decided to hold off on the

Blog candy for just a little while longer. I haven't been feeling to good and plus I have been MIA in crafting for a little while. Hoping that will change here real soon. My craft table is almost cleaned, (everyone thinks it is a junk table for them) and I will be back to scrapbooking and card making. Can't wait getting tired of not creating anything. My son will be turning 7 this Sunday, he got his ear pierced, which he has been begging to have done for the last 6 mths. He is so much like me it is not funny. Now he wants his haired dyed blue and so does my Daughter and I will be doing that this Sunday. He likes the weird hair styles just like I did when growing up, now my daughter just likes to dye her hair any color but not the weird hair cuts like me. lol
